Covid-19 Update

We’re good to go!

Many thanks to all our valued guests for your patience during this confusing time.

We have been very busy re organising the house to ensure that you can relax and enjoy your stay at Brackenhill House.

We are officially opening again from July 17th and still have some out of season weeks available. Check the website for details www.brackenhillhouse.com

We have made some very important changes and taken extensive measures to protect our guests, staff and the local community and to reduce the spread of COVID -19.

Acquiring the “Good to Go’ Industry Standard mark means that our business has followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, has a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

The biggest change is that we are creating a 2 day changeover gap between guests. Arrivals are on Saturday from 6pm and departures the following Friday by 12pm. This is to allow time for all the extra measures we have put in place to protect you.

We have always taken pride in our level of cleanliness and hygiene at Brackenhill House and are now doing an extra ‘double clean’, following up all cleaning with a disinfectant clean, using an approved anti-viral cleaner. All cleaning is carried out in full PPE and carefully planned out, following industry guidelines.

We are paying special attention to all high contact areas such as door handles, switches, tabletops, appliances, keys etc and will provide you with the materials to do so during your stay.

We are also providing disposable remote control covers for each changeover.

All duvets and pillows have been duplicated to allow them to be changed between guests and allow the recommended 72 hours to air.

Hand sanitisers, masks, anti bac wipes and gloves are available for all guests. Hand sanitiser will also be left next to the door to be used on entering and leaving the house throughout your stay.

We have had a bit of a de-clutter and removed some of our ornaments, surplus crockery, cushions, games, DVD’s and other non-essential items to reduce touch points and risks. These will be rotated weekly.

Our guest information books and paper files will be removed and made available to you digitally. We love reading your comments in the guest book so please do email us instead and we can compile it digitally.

Sadly, we have had to stop providing our popular welcome baskets for now but we are providing single use packages to make a welcome cup of tea and coffee when you arrive.

We have also had to remove other, previously shared, food items like herbs, cooking oils, flour etc so you will need to bring these with you.

Further detailed information on what changes to expect, what you can do to assist our house manager and what to do if you develop symptoms of Covid-19 during your stay will be sent to you in an email prior to your arrival.

We will be available to answer any questions by text, phone or email before and during your stay with us.

I hope you are reassured by the changes we have made and thank you for your patience and understanding. We know you love staying at Brackenhill and appreciate the unique local community as much as we do.

We value your continued support.

With warm wishes

Lorna, Sally and Paula.
